Teens and adults get realistic portraits, mandalas and cozy rooms, and seniors get clear, cheerful scenes. You can also color a puppy like a real breed, using the colors the American Kennel Club sets for it.

The covers a page with small puppies of different breeds, a Dalmatian among them. It is a good conversation starter in a group. Most people can point to a dog like one they once had. That leads straight to a favorite question: which colors make a puppy look like a real breed?
How do you color a puppy to look like a real dog breed?
Use the coat colors each breed is known for. The American Kennel Club lists them in its official breed standards, and a few are easy to copy:
- Golden Retriever. The AKC standard asks for a rich, lustrous golden of various shades. Very pale or very dark coats are not typical. Layer a darker gold on the ears for depth.
- Labrador Retriever. The AKC lists three coat colors: black, yellow and chocolate. A yellow Lab can range from fox red to light cream. On a black Lab, leave a tiny white dot in each eye so it still looks bright.
- Siberian Husky. The AKC standard allows brown or blue eyes, or one of each. Give the one blue eye and one brown one.
- Dalmatian. The AKC standard calls for a pure white coat with round black or liver-brown spots. The spots are usually smaller on the head, legs and tail than on the body. The Dalmatian on the sheet is a good place to try it.
For a soft, furry look with colored pencils, use short strokes in the direction the fur grows. Solid blocks look flat; short strokes look like fur. Once a puppy is finished, it can go further than the fridge door.
A finished puppy coloring page makes a card, a game or a lesson.
A colored puppy makes a sweet card for a new pet, a get-well note or a thank-you for a dog sitter. Print it on cardstock and it folds and stands like a real card. Kids can name their puppy and write the name on the page. They can also line up all their puppies for a pretend dog show, with a paper ribbon for each.
In a classroom, the and sheets fit a lesson on caring for pets. If your home is split between dog people and cat people, pair these with our kitten coloring pages. The sheet keeps everyone happy.
From a toddler's first puppy face to a realistic portrait, these free printable puppy coloring pages have a dog for every age. Pick a cute one, a girl puppy with a bow or a real breed in its true colors, and start coloring.
